Missouri's 1-0 victory over Oregon puts the Tigers within one victory of their second consecutive berth into the Women's College World Series.
Missouri has made four WCWS appearances in school history.
Missouri improved to 50-11 on the season, tying the school record for wins in a campaign. The Tigers also won 50 games in 2009 en route to the Women's College World Series.
Missouri is now 3-1 all-time vs. Oregon. The Tigers split a pair of games with the Ducks in 2004 and won in extra innings in 2009.
Missouri Softball set a new stadium record with 1,765 fans in attendance on Saturday afternoon.
Missouri improved to 7-3 in one-run games, including its 3-2 win over Creighton in the first game of last weekend's NCAA Regional.
Missouri improved to 13-9 vs. Top 25 opponents, including a 3-0 mark in NCAA Tournament play (2-0 vs. #18 Illinois last weekend).
Lisa Simmons recorded her ninth hit of the season in just her 13th start of 2010. She grounded a seeing-eye single up the middle in the bottom of the fifth inning. Simmons later scored the winning run in the frame, her 12th run of the season.
Kristin Nottlemann pitched another complete game en route to her fourth win of NCAA action. She is now 23-7 this season. Her 23 wins are just one shy of the school's single-season Top 10.
The complete game was her 14th of the year and three of her four NCAA wins have been of the complete-game variety.
In NCAA play Nottelmann has thrown 24.0 innings, allowed just 17 hits and two earned runs and is a flawless 4-0. Her NCAA ERA is 0.75.
Oregon Notes:
Oregon had its three-game postseason winning streak snapped in its 1-0 loss to Missouri. Starting pitcher Jessica Moore was the tough-luck loser on Saturday, holding the Tigers to just four hits and she didn't allow an earned run. Missouri's lone run came on a throwing error.
Moore has allowed just five earned runs in 25.1 innings of work this post season.
In addition to having its three-game winning streak snapped, Oregon was shut out for just the fifth time this season. The Ducks also fell to 13-6 in one-run games. The Ducks had won four consecutive one-run games coming into Saturday.
Oregon certainly had opportunities to score in the game and parlayed their six hits into three at-bats with the bases loaded. The Ducks however went 0-for-3 in those bases loaded plate appearances. Overall the Ducks left eight on bases compared to Missouri's 2.
Oregon fell to 32-26 all-time in postseason play and is now 3-1 in this year's NCAA Tournament after sweeping through the Atlanta Regional last weekend.
Oregon is now 1-3 vs. the Big 12 Conference this season. The Ducks lost 4-3 to Texas Tech on Feb. 13 and then toppled #19 Texas A&M 4-0 on Feb. 25.
Oregon turned its 10th double play of the year in the bottom of the fourth inning. It was the first time Missouri had grounded into a double play this season.
Sam Pappas was caught stealing in the first inning after her two out single. She is now just 11-of-14 in stolen base attempts.
Pappas' first-inning hit was her 64th of the year, which leads the club. She needs just two more hits this season to move into the Oregon single-season top 10.
Cortney Kivett hit her eighth double of the season in the top of the fifth inning.
No player had a multi-hit game on Saturday. Ten different players had hits and Kivett's double was the only extra-base knock on the contest.
