Hey Tiger Fans!!! I can't believe how quickly this season is going. We are currently ranked 13th in the nation and still have so much to show. We just competed in the 29th annual Cat Classic Meet which definitely didn't go as perfectly as planned but we fought our way back to the top to be only the 10th tiger gymnastics team to win the Cat Classic.
The vault team started us off great especially Shi's amazing vault, which she nailed to earn a 9.95 and win the event!!!!!! Mary tied for second on the event with a 9.85 while "A" and Alex tied for fifth with 9.825s.
Then we went to bars where things started to get a little shaky but everyone stayed in their routines and fought for everything. Shi took second on the event with a 9.85, Allie tied for third with a 9.825, and Mary took fifth on the event with a 9.8.
As we went to beam, things definitely didn't start off the way we wanted or what we are capable of by any means. Despite what happened at the beginning, the rest of the beam team brought it back together. The end of our lineup took up most of the awards. Sarah took second with a 9.9, Adrianne took third with a 9.85, Hatcher took fourth with a 9.8, and Brooke took fifth with a 9.775.
Finally we headed into our last event floor knowing we were going to have to give it our all and we did. Alex and Hatcher got us off to a great start. Shi won the event with a 9.875, I tied for 2nd with a 9.85, and Mary tied for 5th with a 9.825. I was so excited about my floor performance and setting myself a new career high on floor!!!
This meet definitely did not go as well as we wanted but we definitely learned from our mistakes and are glad to get them out now. All in all this is an amazing team and I am so glad to be a part of it. The best part of it is that we're not done yet. We have so much more to show and this team will be in it till the end. We are excited for our meet this weekend at Eastern Michigan and our final home meet (senior night) of the season in two weeks against Oregon State. I hope to see everyone at senior night especially for A and Hatcher who have had a huge impact on this team. I have no words for how much they are going to be missed!!!!! GO TIGERS!!!! MIZ-ZOU!!!! D
