FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Although the "Twilight" aspect of the meet was not scheduled until 6 p.m., the Tigers almost got a full day of work under the lights at John McDonnell Field in the Arkansas Twilight meet, as heavy cloud cover, lightning and scattered showers would not let up, and eventually cancelled the event. However, the Tigers would get two winners on the day in Chris Rohr and Krishna Lee.
The tone of the day would be set early by heavy rains and two stoppages early in the day for the meet, and wreaked havoc with the early events, particularly, the hammer throw. However, the Tigers still fared well as Chris Rohr continued his dominance in the Hammer, winning with a throw of 225 feet, one inch (68.62 meters), while Krishna Lee finished third in the women's hammer with a toss of 191 feet, 6 inches (58.37 meters).
Lee overcame the elements herself, finishing first in the women's discus, throwing 155 feet, 2 inches (47.29 meters).
Brian Hancock almost cleared his outdoor best in the men's pole vault this year, but couldn't clear the 17 feet, 4 inch plateau, and finished second clearing 17 feet, ¾ inches.
The Tigers will now take a week off before heading to Lubbock for the Big 12 Outdoor Championships May 15-17.
