
Tigers struggle to take down LadyBacks

Fayetteville Ark. - No. 18-ranked Missouri Tigers finished 2nd on Friday scoring a 195.725 to No. 12 Arkansas Ladybacks who earned a 196.400. Following Mizzou with third place was No. 36 Southeast Missouri State earning a 192.975 and in fourth was No. 51 ranked Texas Women's scoring a 192.000. Sophomore, Adrianne Perry took the All-Around individual title earning a 39.450 throughout the course of the night.
"The night went well," said Head Coach Rob Drass. "We always have areas to improve on, some of the events were a little rough, but overall it was a successful evening."
Missouri began the quad meet on bars where they earned a score of 48.825. Freshman, Becky Scholle placed 3rd on the apparatus scoring a 9.825. Sophomore, Alicia Hatcher along with classmate, Perry, both tied for fifth place swinging into a score of 9.775.
After a rough start on beam, the Tigers finished the event with a solid score of 48.825. Perry landed a new career high and a first place finish on Friday with a 9.925. Another highlight of the event was from senior, Amanda Pezzullo earning a 9.80 and a sixth place finish.
The Tigers rocked floor on Friday earning a 49.100. Perry once again stole the first place finish earning a 9.90 on the apparatus. Similar to the beam standings, Pezzullo finished sixth on floor scoring a 9.825.
The Tigers traveled to vault for their last event, and senior, Whitney Crater stole the show as she won the vault title with a 9.90. Perry came in 3rd earning a 9.850 followed by junior, Ashley Khederian, and teammate, Pezzullo who tied for sixth place with both girls scoring a 9.80.
"I just felt like we needed really big vault scores to pick up the slack from the other events," said Crater about her first place finish. "So, I went to vault, and tried my best."
The Tigers begin their post-season competition on Saturday, March 31 when they host the Big 12 Conference Championships at 7 p.m. CT. On Monday, April 2, the squad will learn where they travel for NCAA Regional which will take place on April, 14.
