Missouri used a 13-0 run late in the second half to erase a four-point deficit and defeat Iowa State, 66-56, in Big 12 action at Mizzou Arena on Saturday.
EeTisha Riddle scored seven of her game-high 21 during the run, including an old-fashioned three-point play with 3:09 remaining to cap the stretch and give the Tigers a 62-53 lead. ISU trimmed the lead to six with 1:46 to play following a Nicky Wieben layup and an Alison Lacey free throw.
But Missouri sealed it when Carlynn Savant tossed a sideline inbounds pass to a wide-open Alyssa Hollins under the basket for an easy two, before Blair Hardiek made a pair of free throws.
Missouri (13-2, 1-1 Big 12) won its Big 12 home opener for the third-consecutive year and moved to 9-0 at home this season. The loss snaps Iowa State's (13-2, 1-1) 10-game winning streak.
Mizzou shot 41 percent and held the Cyclones to a season-low 32.3 percent, including just 28 percent in the second half.
Missouri led by as many as nine with 2:00 left in the first half before ISU outscored the Tigers 5-0 to trim the margin to 31-27 at the break.
The Tigers led 37-30 before the Cyclones tied it at 37 with seven-straight points. The difference never got larger than four points for either team until Mizzou's late run.
Riddle, who had a team-high nine rebounds, led three Tigers in double-figures as Tiffany Brooks scored 20 and Hollins added 10 on a pair of 3-pointers. Savant also had a solid game, contributing eight rebounds, six assists, two blocks and nine points to bring her career total to 798.
ISU was led by Nicky Wieben's 14 points and Megan Ronhovde's 10 points and nine rebounds.
Missouri will next play on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 6:30 p.m. Central time when it welcomes Texas to Mizzou Arena.
