Tiger Return Home For Two Weeks
After playing three of its first five Big 12 games away from home, Missouri returns to the friendly confines of Mizzou Arena for a Saturday contest against Nebraska ... MU is 9-1 in home games this season and 1-1 in league contests at home ... prior to its overtime loss to Texas last Wednesday, Mizzou had won nine-straight dating back to a 75-62 loss to Nebraska to conclude the regular-season a year ago.
Mizzou-Nebraska Series History
Saturday's game marks the 62nd all-time meeting between the schools, with Nebraska holding a 33-28 overall lead ... Mizzou leads 16-13 in Columbia ... the teams have split the last six meetings, with each school winning on the road every time ... in fact, the last seven have been won by the visitors ... the Huskers won 19-straight from 1991-99 ... Mizzou's longest winning streaks have been seven in the early 80s and six from 2001-03 ... this series is the fourth-longest in MU women's basketball history (70 with Kansas State, 69 with Kansas State and 63 with Iowa State).
Tigers Taking Care Of The Ball
Without question the 2006-07 Missouri team is one of the best in both school history and on the national scene in regards to taking care of the ball ... the Tigers currently lead the Big 12 and rank 36th nationally with 15.3 turnovers per game ... in the last 10 games Mizzou has averaged 14.1 tpg (with 9 games having 15 or less), resulting in a decrease from 16.9 (10 games ago) to 15.3 ... the Tigers have committed the same or fewer turnovers than their opponents 15 times (out of 18) this season and are 12-3 in those games.
Hollins Joins Helm As Top Long-Range Bombers By A Texas Tech Opponent
Sophomore G Alyssa Hollins' six 3-pointers on Wednesday at Texas Tech established a new career-high and were just one shy of tying Julie Helm's school record of seven, set on March 1, 1997, at Texas Tech ... Helm's mark is still the most ever by a Lady Raider opponent, meaning Hollins performance marks at least a tie for the second-best game by a Tech foe ... Hollins' six treys are the most in a Big 12 game this season and are tied for the most in any game involving a Big 12 player (K-State's Brittany Dietz made 6 vs. Rice on Dec. 29).
Hollins Deadly From Outside
By virtue of those career-high six 3-pointers made at Texas Tech sophomore G Alyssa Hollins has now drained a team-high 43 triples this season which now places her eighth all-time in Mizzou's single-season record book ... her 2.4 3's per game lead the Big 12 and rank 44th in the nation ... her .467 3-FG pct ranks fourth in the Big 12 and sixth in the nation ... sitting 23 made 3's shy of the MU record she is projected to make her 66th of the year in 10 games - which is Mizzou's Feb. 25 game at Oklahoma.

Its Good To Be Home
Don't be too shocked if you hear Missouri coaches and players talk about not having to travel for a while ... not only has Missouri been one of four teams to play three of their first five Big 12 games away from home, they have been the only school that has not had a full week off at some point during the five games ... furthermore, as a result of games being canceled by weather and regular weeks off, all three of MU's road opponents had an entire week to prepare for the Tigers ... the trip to Kansas State was scheduled to be a day trip leaving on Saturday for the 7 p.m. game but the team was forced to leave a day early to beat the bad weather that hit the Midwest ... then the Tigers couldn't fly back because of the weather and spent five hours on a bus before spending another 45 minutes scraping ice off their vehicles at 2:30 a.m. ... the Texas Tech trip on Wednesday was also scheduled as a one-day venture but when a problem with the chartered plane arose, Mizzou had to wait three hours for a back-up to arrive from Cedar Falls, Iowa ... the coaches opted to have a shoot-around in Columbia before grabbing lunch and heading out to Lubbock, where the team arrived at 3:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. tip.
Don't Foul! Don't Foul!
Missouri ranks second in the Big 12 in fewest personal fouls (15.0 fpg) ... in 36 halves of action, Mizzou has only allowed the opposition to reach the foul bonus 22 times and the double bonus just nine times (with four of those coming in both halves of the same game) ... in Wednesday's game at Texas Tech, the teams combined for just six violations in the first half ... Mizzou's season low for a half is 3 (vs. South Dakota State and at Tech - both in the first half) and for a game is 7 (against South Dakota State).
