Sophomore Alyssa Hollins led four players in double-figures with 14 points as Missouri cruised to a 94-36 win over Truman State at Mizzou Arena Saturday in their lone exhibition contest of the season.
The Tigers shot 55.7 percent from the floor and connected on seven three-pointers, including four in a span of 2:25 midway through the second half. MU won its sixth-consecutive preseason contest and moved to 14-1 under coach Cindy Stein.
"I thought that I saw a lot of good things out there," Stein said. "It was nice to play somebody else. I liked the way our kids worked hard. They played together."
Seniors Tiffany Brooks and Blair Hardiek also reached double figures in scoring with 13 and 10, respectively, while junior Kassie Drew finished with 12 points and five rebounds.
The Tigers out-rebounded the Bulldogs 43-24 and forced 27 turnovers. Mizzou scored 25 points off TSU miscues, including 16 fast-break points.
MU scored the first 15 points and didn't allow a TSU field goal over the first 7:35 of the half. Truman added to its first basket with a pair of free throws from Laura Joyce to make it 15-4. Then Brooks sparked an 9-0 Tiger run with five points as the lead was stretched to 23-4.
Missouri stretched its lead to as many as 29 with 3:22 remaining in the half before taking a 43-16 lead into the locker room. Brooks led all scorers with 12 at the break.
The second period started much the same way the first did as Mizzou went on a 7-0 run thanks in part to a pair of steals and a block in the first two minutes. The Tigers led by as many as 62 on two occasions before coming away with the most lopsided exhibition victory in the last nine years.
Drew led all players with nine second-half points, two assists, one block and a steal in 11 minutes.
Truman State got six points apiece from Katie Fowler and Georgia Mueller.
Missouri opens it regular season at Southern Illinois on Sunday, Nov. 12. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. in Carbondale, Ill.
