
Hoeper, Mizzou Lead at Price's Give' Em Five Invitational

LAS CRUCES, N.M - The Mizzou women's golf team, which is the defending champion of the Price's Give `em Five Invitational, will enter the final round in Las Cruces, N.M in first place, two shots ahead of tournament host New Mexico State. The Tigers carded a round of 292 on the second day of action to take the lead in the tournament with one round to play.
Sophomore Ellen Hoeper shot a two-under par 70 in the second round and leads the individual standings with a two-round total of 142. The 70 is a new career low for Hoeper, breaking her previous best of 72, which she had recorded twice including on Monday in the first round. She is two shots ahead of second place held by Lehua Wise of New Mexico State.
Senior Stephanie Wavro moved up 12 spots on Tuesday, recording a round of 73 to move her into a tie for 14th place with a 36-hole total of 150. Sophomore Chelsea Schriewer is tied for 17th place with a two-round score of 151 (76-75), one shot ahead of freshman Julia Potter, whose 152 (77-75) two-day total puts her in a tie for 24th spot.
The Tigers are two shots ahead of New Mexico State and four shots in front of third-place Boise State. The tournament's final round is scheduled for Wednesday.
