
Tigers Pick Up Two Victories

Columbia, Mo. - The #55 Missouri tennis team concluded its seven-match home stand with two victories, defeating Air Force and Eastern Illinois. Missouri took both matches by a score of 7-0. The victories improve the Tigers to 11-2 on the season and extend their home win record to 9-0 in the Green Tennis Center.
Mizzou continued its dominance in pairs play, winning the doubles point in both matches. The tandem of Charlotte Bellis and Lubica Nadasska improved their record to 3-0, defeating Air Force's duo of Liza Vaccaro and Kelly Morgan, 8-4 and Eastern Illinois's Madina Mambetova and Jill Wirtz, 8-5.
Missouri mixed up the singles lineup against Eastern Illinois playing sophomore Yelena Olshanskaya at No. 1 in order to rest senior Katka Sevcikova. Olshanskaya had no trouble playing in the top spot defeating Panther Sandra Sasidharan, 6-2, 6-2. Newcomer Charlotte Bellis also aided the Tiger effort recording two straight set wins.
Missouri concludes the non-conference portion of its schedule when it travels to Washington D.C., for matches against George Washington and American on Sun., March 20. The Tigers face American at 9:00 a.m., and square off with George Washington at 3:00 p.m. Missouri returns to the Green Tennis Center Sun., April 3, when it hosts Big 12 Conference foe Texas A&M.
