First 3: Melanie Fisher attempted and made her first-ever collegiate 3-point field goal in Tuesday night's game against Kansas State. Fisher, a 6-foot-2 sophomore center, stepped out and drained her shot from long range with 14 minutes and 18 seconds remaining in the first half. Fisher, who joined the Tigers after spending one season at Southwest Missouri State, finished the game with seven points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Balance: Natalie Bright led the Tigers with 13 points and Terianne Wolford netted 11 points despite coming in off of the bench. Evan Unrau and Kerensa Barr each added eight points while Melanie Fisher recorded seven points. Barr, Bright and Lauren Podratz each had a team-high four assists.
Second-Straight Start: Lauren Podratz, a freshman guard from Maple Grove, Minn., recorded her second-straight start (and third overall) in Tuesday's game. Podratz finished the game with five points and a career-high four assists.
Taking The Lead: After Kansas State opened the game with a 19-13 lead, Missouri answered with a 9-2 run to take the lead. Natalie Bright sank a 3-point field goal with seven minutes and 35 seconds remaining in the first half to give the Tigers a 22-21 edge. Bright scored five points during MU's run while Evan Unrau and Melanie Fisher each had two points. However, Kansas State went on a 10-0 run to silence the Tigers and never trailed again.
