Missouri head coach Cindy Stein
On the game:
"I'd like to give a lot of credit to Bradley. They did a great job today. They're extremely well coached, and she's done a great job with that program. I knew that they'd come in with a lot of spit and vinegar, and they did that. Our play in the first half gave them a lot of hope for the second half, but we move on. We'll learn from it."
On the play of Kerensa Barr:
"We knew they were getting in a situation where they'd have to foul, and she's our best free throw shooter. Making plays down the stretch-that's the big thing; she has to be able to step up and make the play."
On the play of Stretch James:
"Stretch is a very good player. She's going to get better and better for us. The main thing right now is to keep her conditioning level."
On the play of Melanie Fisher:
"Melanie does a lot of great things for us; that's why she's out there on the floor. She's gaining more confidence every day offensively, and her defense creates a lot of things for her. She's a very good rebounder. She's a good leader."
Missouri senior guard Kerensa Barr
On Bradley's second-half run:
"Bad defense was part of their run. We gave up 50 points in the second half, and it's hard to win when you do that, but luckily we were able to hang on and win. It doesn't feel like a win right now, but we'll take it."
? ? ? "We didn't come ready to play tonight. We weren't going to lay down. Good times find a way to win, and that's what we did tonight."
Bradley head coach Paula Buscher
On the game:
"I'm proud of how hard we came back in the second half. At the same time, it's not a 20-minute game. As much as we're proud of how hard we came back and that we're not going to give up and go away, I was disappointed in the little bit of passiveness we had in the first half against their pressure."
On Bradley's second-half turnaround:
"In the second half, there's no doubt about it-we took care of the ball better. We had 15 turnovers in the first half. I thought our defense was better (in the second half.) I thought we settled in, we played a defensive game, and we controlled the boards much better in the second half."
On the play of the team with and without Dena Williams on the floor:
"She gives us a physical presence and is becoming a much better defensive player because she's learning position so much better. She has control of the boards in there."
On Bradley's final play of the game, down by 3:
"I could have organized us a little bit better, so we would have gotten a cleaner look. I was disappointed we put ourselves in that position, but you have to give Missouri a lot of credit."
