Lincoln, Neb. - The University of Missouri women's golf team finished in 8th place at the season-opening Chip-N Club Invitational, which wrapped up with 36 holes of play today in at Yankee Hill Country Club in Lincoln, Neb.
First year Head Coach Stephanie Cooper's debut was marked by solid improvement from her young team throughout the tournament. After opening with a team score of 314 on Sunday, the Tigers rebounded to post team scores of 311 and 298 on Monday. The final team tally of 923 left the Tigers in 8th place in the 13-team tournament, just nine strokes out of 3rd place.
Individually, junior Elin Ohlsson finished tied for 6th place with a three-round total of 223. Ohlsson had an up-and-down day Monday, as she ballooned to an eight-over par 80 in Monday's opening round. She rebounded nicely, however, to finish with a two-under par 70 in the afternoon tour, which represented a career low collegiate round.

Freshman Mario Ohlsson, younger sister of Elin, had a solid collegiate debut, as she finished tied for 28th place overall with a three-round score of 231. Ohlsson was consistent throughout the tournament, firing rounds of 76-77-78 for her total.
