
MU Hosts Black and Gold Intrasquad Meet

Columbia, Mo.-The University of Missouri women's gymnastics team hosted its annual Black and Gold Intrasquad scrimmage tonight prepping its athletes for the upcoming collegiate season.
The MU Black team of Alina Hamm, Andrea Nervig, Erin Stoll, Ashley Asraf, Terri Baker, Abby Steenbergen and Rachael Dombart emerged triumphant in the competition scoring a 166.75. The Tiger Gold team of Alisha Robinson, Lindsay Davis, Laura Forbes, Lauren Owca, Leah Gremaud and Rachel Bridges rounded out the meet with a 164.375 team score. Five competitors participated on each apparatus and four scores were used to determine the team final.
Freshman Alisha Robinson scored meet high marks winning the floor exercise, vault and all-around. The 2001 US Power Tumbling champion scored a 9.85 on the floor, posted a 9.775 to win the vault and captured the all-around title scoring a 38.525.
Junior Alina Hamm was second in the all-around for the Black team scoring a 38.475. She topped the competition scoring a 9.8 on the balance beam and finished second on the vault (9.6), bars (9.425) and floor (9.65).
The Tigers jump into the 2002 season following Christmas break. Missouri opens the year against Bowling Green on January 13. Mizzou hosts its first home venue against Southeast Missouri State on January 20 at 2:00 p.m.
