TitleDirector of Athletic Performance

Brandon Joyner is in his first season as director of athletic performance for Mizzou women's basketball since joining the program in August of 2025.

Joyner joined Mizzou after five years with the Dallas Mavericks, where he spent four seasons as a performance coach before being promoted to director of G League health and performance.

Before Dallas, he spent a season as a performance coach with the Sacramento Kings.

His first NBA stint began in 2018, when he spent three seasons as head strength and conditioning coach of the Canton Charge, now Cleveland Charge, the G League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Prior to the professional ranks, Joyner spent a season as associate head strength and conditioning coach/head powerlifting coach at McKendree University.

From 2014-18, he served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Florida State, overseeing the men's and women's golf, track and field, and cross country programs. During his time in Tallahassee, he coached 16 athletes who qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

He also worked as a player development coach intern at Georgia Tech in 2014. Before Atlanta, he held several other positions with organizations and universities, including Samford.

Joyner graduated Valdosta State in 2010 with a bachelors of science degree in athletic training. He obtained a masters in sports medicine from Georgia State in 2013.

Joyner lives in Columbia with his wife Cheryce and two kids, Josephina and Izabella.
