2011/2012:
Indoor Track- Came out of the season with two personal-records in the weight throw and shot put, both earned on home turf at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge...His shot put PR of 15.92m (52-2.75) was enough to earn him second-place, and his PR throw of 18.17m (59-7.25) in the weight was enough for fourth-place...Went on to compete in both events at the Big 12 Championships, where he just missed an All-Big 12 honor after a ninth-place performance in the weight throw.
Outdoor Track- Earned another pair of personal-records during the outdoor season in the discus and hammer throw...He hit his hammer PR during the first meet of the season, throwing a 52.99m (173-10.25) to place fifth...Also walked away from the meet with a third-place finish in the discus throw, marking in at 51.30m (168-3.75)...Competed in the shot put and discus at the Big 12 Championships, throwing a PR of 51.95m (170-5.25) in the discus.
2010/2011:
Indoor Track- Competed primarily in the weight throw during the indoor season and posted a personal-record mark of 16.32m (53-6.5) at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge to place fifth...His second-best throw of the season came at the KU MU Dual Meet, where he placed sixth with a mark of 15.81m (51-10.5).
Outdoor Track- Competed in a variety of throws events during the season, and set personal-records in three diferent events, two of which came at the Big 12 Championships...His first PR of the season was good enough to earn him sixth in the shot put at the Kip Janvrin Open, where he hit a mark of 14.64m (48-0.25)...He hit two more PR's at the Big 12 Championships in the discus and hammer throw, marking in at 48.17m (158-0.5) and 50.19m (164-8), respectively.
2009/2010:
Indoor Track- Did not compete.
Outdoor Track- Did not compete.
High School:
Competed at Timberland HS...Alex was an MSHSAA All-State athlete, earning two First-Team honors, and winning a State Title in 2009 for the discus...He was ranked at No. 18 Nationally in the discus his senior year...Was All-State in the shot put his sophomore season...Was also All-Conference in both the shot put and discus (2007-2009)...High School bests are 57.96m (190-2) in the discus and 17.78m (58-4) in the shot put.
Personal:
Parents are Tim and Dena...Born December 12, 1990 in Bridgeton, MO...He was a member of the National Honors Society and National Society of High School Scholars, and was named as one of the Who's-Who among American high school students...Enjoys playing guitar in his spare time...Has aspirations of being an All-American in three throwing events...Is studying Health Sciences at Missouri.
