Tanner Anderson is in his third year at Missouri after joining the track and field and cross country program in August of 2023.
Anderson serves as the Tigers' recruiting coordinator while also assisting with middle-distance and distance athletes. He also served last year as indoor meet director as Mizzou hosted five indoor meets on its new state-of-the-art indoor track at Hearnes Center.
Among the athletes with whom he’s worked, Kelsey Schweizer earned outdoor all-America honors in the 800m run in 2024 and Drew Rogers was the SEC indoor champion in the 3000m run.
He previously worked as a grad assistant at Washington where he helped with meet operations, travel coordination and compliance activities.
From 2021-2023, he served as a volunteer coach at Mercer Island High School in Mercer, Washington, where he built relationships with and mentored prep athletes, ran workouts and assisted with training techniques.
Earning All-American honors in 2019 and 2020, Anderson competed collegiately at Oregon (2015-18) and Washington (2018-20). He notched All-America Second Team status for the 10,000m in 2017 and was named to the Cross Country All-Pac-12 Second Team in 2018. In 2020, he claimed the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation 3,000m title.
In addition to his 2014 Nike Cross Title, Anderson competed internationally during his prep career as a member of the junior Team USA. Additionally, he is a two-time Washington State High School Cross Country Champion, earning back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014.
Anderson graduated from Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2020. He subsequently obtained a Master’s of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from his alma mater in 2021.
