Patrick Crawford joined Mizzou Athletics in January 2013 in the role of Assistant Director of Stategic Communications. He currently serves as the primary stategic communications and media relations contact for Mizzou Men's Basketball and Mizzou Men's Golf. Crawford previously worked with Mizzou Football and Mizzou Softball, helping oversee growth and advancement in each program's communication models.
During the 2013 and 2014 seasons of Mizzou Football, Crawford created content and messaging to aid in the promotion of the program's latest All-Americans. Defensive ends Michael Sam (2013) and Shane Ray (2014) earned unanimous and consensus All-America honors, respectively.
Mizzou Softball's social media presence grew tremendously under Crawford's watch, with the program's official Twitter account seeing a nearly 300-percent increase in follower totals (approx. 3,300-13,000) during the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
Before joining Mizzou Athletics, Crawford served as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Rutgers University from September 2011 to December 2012. He was the secondary contact for the football program during the 2011 and 2012 seasons, while also serving as the primary contact for Rutgers' men's lacrosse and wrestling programs.
Crawford first gained experience in the Southeastern Conference at the University of Arkansas from July 2010 to September 2011, serving as an assistant media relations contact for the Razorbacks' football program and the primary media contact for softball. He also assisted in media relations duties for women’s soccer, women’s basketball, women’s gymnastics and baseball.
Before his arrival in Fayetteville, Crawford worked as an undergraduate assistant in the athletic communications office at Iowa State University from 2007-10. He served as the Cyclones' primary wrestling contact, working with a pair of notable head coaches in United States Olympic gold medalists Cael Sanderson and Kevin Jackson.
Crawford earned a Bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications with a public relations emphasis from Iowa State in May 2010.
