2003-04:
Outlook: Brings experience and power to post play. Also has the ability to play facing the basket. Good footwork and mobility for size. Possesses outstanding stamina and endurance, which allowed for her two-sport exploits at Mizzou. Will be a key figure on interior defense. Runs the floor well. Has excellent hands.
Junior Season (2002-03): Averaged 5.8 points and 6.0 rebounds to rank fifth and second, respectively, on the Mizzou squad. Was a consistent presence in the Tiger lineup, as Fisher was one of four Mizzou players who started all 31 games. Started the season out in fine fashion against her former teammates at Southwest Missouri (11/23), going 5-of-7 from the field and sinking both free throws on her way to 12 points in the season-opener, adding six rebounds and a game-high six steals against the Lady Bears. In the home opener the following Tuesday vs. Bradley (11/26), picked up her first double-double of the season, getting 13 points and 10 rebounds in the Tiger win. Added her second double-double — and the third of her career — with a 12-point, 14-rebound performance in the season finale at Colorado State in the WNIT quarterfinals (3/27). Scored in double figures seven times, and had four double-digit rebound efforts. Was third on the team with 53 steals, and that put her among the top 15 players in the Big 12 with her 1.71 spg average. Twice registered new career highs with six steals: the season-opener at SMS, and the regular-season finale vs. Texas A&M (3/5). Was 15th in the league in offensive rebounds per game (2.13). Was back on the softball field for her third and final season of eligibility at Mizzou just two days after the basketball team's elimination from the WNIT. Played in five games before a back injury sidelined her for the rest of the season. Hit a solid .308 (4-for-13) with a homer and a pair of RBI and two runs scored. Her first hit of the season was a two-run, game-winning homer against Southeast Missouri State.
Sophomore Season (2001-02): Appeared in all 29 games, starting 27. In her first-ever Mizzou start, scored 14 points and snared five rebounds in the win over UMKC (11/16). Scored 10 points and had nine rebounds in the WNIT matchup against Alabama (3/13), also sinking all eight foul shots in the contest. Had three assists, including two on behind-the-back passes, against Kansas (2/9). Made her first-ever collegiate 3-point field goal against Kansas State (2/5). Snared a career-best 13 rebounds, including six offensively, against Baylor (1/19). Had a career-high four steals against Nebraska (1/15). Stole three passes against Kansas (1/12). Scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds (six offensively) against Texas Tech (1/9). Scored 10 points, all in the second half, against UW-Green Bay (12/30). Recorded MU's first six points against Davidson. Scored in double figures seven times. Led team in rebounds seven times. Led team in steals six times. Had two double-doubles. Snared 10 or more rebounds three times. Scored MU's first point of a contest a team-best seven times. Also excelled in her second season with the Mizzou softball team, earning first-team Midwest All-Region honors and a first-team all-conference pick after hitting .344 in 33 games. She had eight multi-hit contests. Was one of 52 players invited to the 2002 USA Softball National Team Camp in Chula Vista, Calif.
Redshirt Season (2000-01): Sat out the basketball season after transferring from Southwest Missouri State. An All-American as a designated player on the MU softball team. Hit .379 and led team in doubles (10), runs batted in (33) and slugging percentage (.506).
Freshman Season (1999-2000 at Southwest Missouri State): Appeared in 24 games, starting four. Tied for team lead three times in rebounds. Snared 10 against Baylor (11/27) and grabbed six against Arkansas State (11/23) and Oregon (12/11). Was the Lady Bears' second-leading hitter (.400 batting average) while appearing in limited action for 10 games on the softball team.
High School: As a senior, averaged 18 points and 14 rebounds per game on the way to earning all-state honors for head coach Norm Purdy at Principia High. Nabbed all-area, all-metro, all-district and all-conference honors. Averaged 15.6 points and 11 rebounds per game as a junior. Named Female Athlete of the Year for the West County. An all-conference softball player and all-conference honorable mention performer in tennis. Also played varsity volleyball.
Personal: Majoring in history. Born on August 21, 1981, in Albuquerque, N.M. Daughter of Edward and Laura Fisher. Father is a high school football coach. Has an older brother, Daniel (25), who played football and basketball at Washington (Mo.) University and basketball and baseball at Principia College.
