| Wilson was the first of a long line of great softball pitchers at the University of Missouri and the first softball player tabbed for the MU Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame. During her career from 1980-83 at MU, the Pickering, Missouri native twice won all-Big Eight Conference honors, twice was named to the all-region team, and earned all-America status in 1983. She set a host of Missouri records including victories in a season (32) and career victories (105). She threw 55 shutouts in her career, contributing to her career ERA of 0.47. After leaving MU, she coached on the collegiate level at Oregon, Minnesota, Washington and Texas Tech from 1986-2008. Her career coaching record was 839-526-1. She took Oregon to the Womens College World Series in 1989 when she was Pac-10 Conference coach of the year. During her 11 years at Washington, she took the Huskies to six World Series, reaching the championship game in both 1996 and 99. She was conference coach of the year in 1996 and 2000. She was the Big Ten Conference coach of the year in 1991. She also coached professionally with the Carolina Diamonds and Beijing Eagles of National Pro Fastpitch. |
