Kim Bishop has been with the University of Missouri Department of Athletics since 2002. As the Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development, Bishop oversees all facets of the Student-Athlete Development program including the student-athletes' personal enhancement, social responsibility, career development, and leadership training. Bishop developed and implemented the Mizzou Made Student Athlete Development Program as well as the Tiger Leadership Institute.
Bishop graduated with her undergraduate degree in Communication from the University of Missouri and was also a swimmer competing for the Tigers from 1997-2001. She then went on to obtain her Master's degree in Student Affairs Administration in 2004, also from the University of Missouri.
Upon completing her undergraduate degree, Bishop went to work for the Muscular Dystrophy Association as their District Director in Columbia. In 2002, she returned to the University of Missouri Athletic Department as a graduate assistant in the Total Person Program. In October 2003, Bishop took over full-time as the academic coordinator for baseball, gymnastics, men's and women's swimming and diving, and tennis. In July 2007, she became the Director of Student-Athlete Development and was elevated to Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development in 2010 and Associate Athletic Director for Student Athlete Development in 2011.
Bishop was selected to participate in the University of Missouri’s Chancellor’s Emerging Leaders Program as well as the Athlete Development Professional Certification Program through the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She has also been trained as a Green Dot Bystander Intervention facilitator.
Bishop has also been extensively involved with student athlete development on a national level. She was the chair of the NCAA Yearly Initiatives Action Team and is currently a member of the N4A Student Athlete Development group, and a member of the NACWAA Circle for Academics/Student Athlete Development. Bishop has facilitated at two NCAA Leadership Forums, presented multiple times at the NCAA Life Skills Symposium as well as the NCAA/NFL Life Skills Summit.
Bishop is married to Shane Bishop and has two sons, Tyler and Maverick.
