- 2021 NCAA Qualifier (No. 6 seed) at 133 pounds
- 2021 MAC Champion (133 pounds)
- Wrestled to an impressive 12-3 record in his first year as a Tiger
- Picked up three ranked wins during the regular season, highlighted by back-to-back dominant performances, winning in a 12-0 major decision against No. 7, Oregon State’s Devan Turner (Jan. 3) and in a 11-1 major decision against No. 14, Central Michigan’s Andrew Marten (Jan. 8)
- Tallied four victories en route to winning an individual MAC championship, Feb. 26-27, at 133 pounds, including 18-2 and 22-5 technical falls
- Completed season as a quarterfinal finisher at the NCAA Championships (March 18-20) after picking up two victories at the national tournament

BEFORE MIZZOU
- Graduate transfer 133-pounder from West Virginia
- Former team captain for the Mountaineers, will have two years of eligibility remaining as he took a redshirt as a freshman and an Olympic redshirt last season
- In his final year wrestling with WVU, he battled through an elbow injury to earn the No. 16 national seed at the NCAA Championships at 133 pounds
- Won his opening-round matchup at NCAAs, but was ousted from the championship by top-seeded Daton Fix (Oklahoma State) and then lost in his first bout in the consolation rounds. In all, he posted a 19-10 record as a RS sophomore.
- As a redshirt freshman in 2017-18, he posted a 23-14 record and boasted a top-20 rank nationally throughout the entire season.
- Placed fourth at a loaded Big 12 Conference Championship tournament, earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships
- At the 2018 NCAA Championships, he went 2-2 despite having to face top-seeded Seth Gross (SDSU) in the opening round
- Was 42-24 overall in his two-year career
- Was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 Second Team selection while at WVU as well
High School
- At Platte City High School, Schmitt was a three-time MSHSAA Class 3 State Champion and the 2015 Class 3 Wrestler of the Year.
- Eight-time Fargo All-American and a USJOC Champion as well.
