Mizzou Baseball - Fall World Series Update
Mizzou Baseball is in the middle of its annual Fall World Series. The series began last Friday with the Gold Team winning all three games over the weekend, with a comeback effort Sunday to close the three-game affair. The Fall World Series resumes this week with a 2:30 p.m. contest on both Wednesday and Thursday before concluding with a 6:30 p.m. game Friday night.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Former Mizzou Baseball standout SS Dave Silvestri will be honored as part of the 2017 SEC Baseball Legends Class, announced Wednesday by the Southeastern Conference. Silvestri and honorees from three other SEC schools are set for recognition at this month's SEC Tournament, scheduled for May 23-28 at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama. COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball got another stellar midweek start from junior RHP Andy Toelken (Green Cove Springs, Fla.) as it snapped a six-game skid with a 11-0 win over Murray State Tuesday night (May 2) at Taylor Stadium. Mizzou also got a solo homer and three hits from junior C Brett Bond (St. Louis, Mo.) as the Tigers improve to 28-18 on the year. Head coach Steve Bieser is now tied for the most wins ever by a first-year Mizzou head coach, matching the mark set by the 1974 team under legendary Mizzou head coach Gene McArtor.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Mizzou Baseball matched the longest winning streak in school history after sweeping Alabama with an 8-5 decision Sunday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Tigers, at 19-1 and off to the best start in school history, have won 19 consecutive games. That ties the school record, which was originally set by the 1964 team. The sweep is also Mizzou's first SEC road sweep since March 15, 2015, at Georgia and just the third sweep for Mizzou since joining the league.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Mizzou Baseball shutout Alabama, 3-0, Friday night to win its SEC opener at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, pushing its win streak to 17, the second-best streak in school history. At 17-1 (1-0 SEC), Mizzou is off to the best start in school history and earned its first SEC shutout since March 15, 2015, in a 6-0 decision at Georgia. Mizzou got great pitching from junior RHP Tanner Houck (Collinsville, Ill.) and freshman LHP T.J. Sikkema (DeWitt, Iowa) as the two combined for 14 strikeouts, just two hits and four walks. The two hits allowed in the game are the fewest ever allowed by Mizzou in an SEC game.
