Home of Mizzou Baseball, Taylor Stadium is a premier baseball facility, combining top-notch amenities with an exciting, game day atmosphere.
Ahead of the 2026 season, Mizzou completed a $1.625 million update to Taylor Stadium, adding state-of-the-art MMTH Turf installed by Mammoth Sports Construction in partnership with Shaw Sports Turf. The project also included the addition of a new clay pitching mound, creating an elite surface built for performance and durability.
The investment in both the playing surface and the fan experience led to a new regular-season attendance record when 3,207 fans packed the park for Mizzou’s game against the Kansas Jayhawks on March 31, 2026. The Tigers finished the 2026 season with the third-highest total attendance in program history and the fourth highest average attendance in program history. Student attendance increased 51 percent, single-game ticket sales increased 32 percent and ticket revenue went up 19 percent, providing a consistent buzz and excitement throughout the season at Taylor Stadium.
Originally completed in 2002, Taylor Stadium—officially named the Ralph and Debbie Taylor/Phi Delta These Stadium at Simmons Field—was constructed to create a first-class facility for student athletes, along with providing Mizzou Baseball fans with an exceptional experience at the ballpark. The project was made possible due to a $1 million gift from Ralph and Debbie Taylor of Prairie Village, Kansas.
In 2014, a $4 million expansion further elevated the stadium’s top-notch facility with all the amenities of a major league clubhouse. The project included a new locker room, coaches’ offices and improved seating throughout the ballpark. Prior to the 2017 season, Mizzou also unveiled the new “Break Time Lounge”, a premier, luxury seating and hospitality area down the left field line.
Taylor Stadium was designed to be able to host NCAA postseason baseball games and Mizzou hosted an NCAA Regional for the first time in 2007. This marked the program’s first home NCAA postseason action since 1965.

McArtor Baseball Facility
The University of Missouri Department of Athletics and the Mizzou Baseball program officially opened the McArtor Baseball Facility during the 2010 season. The facility is located in the left field corner of Taylor Stadium and serves as Mizzou Baseball’s indoor training facility, featuring three FieldTurf batting lanes, pitching mounds, a team room and a conference room.
The facility was named in honor of Gene McArtor, a former player, coach and administrator at Mizzou. As a player at Missouri, McArtor won all-conference and all-district honors as a first baseman from 1961-63. He played on two Big Eight Conference championship teams and two squads which advanced to the College World Series. He served as team captain as a senior.
Clubhouse
Located in the McArtor Baseball Facility and connected to the Tigers’ home third base dugout, Mizzou’s clubhouse provides the baseball team and coaching staff with a secure and spacious area to prepare for home games.
Brand new prior to the 2015 season, Mizzou introduced a state-of-the-art locker room, modeled after many big-league clubhouses, as part of a $4 million renovation project. The enhanced facility is one of the top baseball venues in the nation and gives players all the amenities needed to succeed on-site.
The clubhouse is directly accessible via tunnel from the home dugout and outer concourse.
Press Box
Taylor Stadium provides media professionals with a working press box located 52 feet above home plate. The heated and enclosed press box is accessible by elevator and contains a main press/media room, three broadcast booths and a control booth. Photographers and electronic media also have access to an outdoor balcony on either side of the press box.
Camera Locations
In addition to the balcony locations that can be used for filming, photographers and electronic media also have access to camera locations located above the end of each dugout. These decks are approximately eight feet off the ground and give photographers a clear view of the entire playing field.
Concessions/Mizzou Team Store
Taylor Stadium has two main concession options for Tiger fans on game days. Refreshments are available at a concession area on the stadium's outer concourse, which is located behind the main seating area, during all home Mizzou Baseball games. In addition, a second concession space is located down the left field line at the top of the concourse. An official Mizzou Team Store trailer is located just outside of the main gate/front entrance of Taylor Stadium for all home games.
Dugouts
Not only do fans have a much better view at Taylor Stadium, but players and coaches also have a better look at the action with the construction of more spacious and higher-sitting dugouts.
The dugouts, which are 56 feet long and 11 feet from front to back, offer both home and visiting players the amenities of professional teams' stadiums. Visiting teams, in addition to the extra space, also have access to their own restroom from the visiting dugout. Members of Mizzou's Baseball team can access their clubhouse and restrooms from the home dugout via tunnel.
Ticket Booth
Mizzou Baseball fans can enter Taylor Stadium from a formal gate with a ticket booth. The area, which is the entrance for both fans and media located in, was designed to match the look and feel of the rest of the stadium.
Scoreboard / Sound System
The sights and sounds of Mizzou Baseball are amplified with the addition of the stadium's scoreboard and a dynamic stadium sound system. The scoreboard contains a dot-matrix message center, line score and personalized team names - all guarded by a nearly invisible protective net.
One of the more exciting features of the complex is the dynamic sound system. Speakers are located throughout the stadium and will keep those away from their seats tuned into all the action. The main speakers are located inside the scoreboard to give the crowd a true stadium sound.
Playing Surface
The actual playing surface is handled by the grounds crew at Mizzou, led by Director of Turf, Landscape & Grounds Nick Farfan, and the Mizzou coaching staff.
The dimensions of the symmetrical playing surface are 340 feet down the lines, 375 to the power alleys and 400 feet to center field. The field was resurfaced in 2026 with MMTH Turf and a clay pitching mound was also added.
Simmons Field at Taylor Stadium was named 2011 College and University Baseball Field of the Year by the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA).
