Justin Dedman enters his second season on the Mizzou staff in 2023. He upgrades to the role as director of player development after spending his first season on the Tiger staff as a graduate assistant.
Dedman previously spent four seasons as an assistant at Miami (Ohio) from 2017-20 on coach Danny Hayden’s staff. Dedman worked primarily with the RedHawk hitters and helped Miami to 72 wins over the 2018-2019 seasons, marking the most successful stretch in nearly 15 years for the program.
Prior to his time at Miami, Dedman was an assistant coach at Lee University in Tennessee. Over his seven years on the Lee staff, the Flames posted a 291-116 record and went to five NAIA/D-II World Series.
Dedman’s previous experience also includes a year as the Director of Operations at Ole Miss, a stop at Austin Peay and four seasons at his alma mater, Denison, the first two as an assistant before being promoted to head coach in 2008.
