REDSHIRT SENIOR (2018-19)

  • Concluded his historic Tiger career with a 28-3 record, including 22 victories garnering bonus points
  • Finished his Tiger career as just the third four-time All-American in program history, joining Ben Askren and J'den Cox … His 53 career pins are second-most in program history and he is just the eighth four-time MAC Champion at any weight class
  • For the fourth consecutive season, Lewis reached All-American status, with just two losses in the NCAA Tournament en route to a fourth-place finish
  • One loss to the eventual champion Zahid Valencia out of Arizona State and the other in a tightly-contested 4-3 decision to Myles Amine from Michigan in the third-place match
  • Earned the Gorrarian Award, going to the individual with the most pins in the least amount of time in the tournament … Lewis had three pins in a combined 8:24
  • Captured his fourth consecutive MAC Championship, with the first two coming at 165 pounds and the final two in the 174 pounds
  • Went on a 19-match winning streak spanning from December up through the NCAA Championships, with 13 of those victories coming via fall
  • Took second place in the Cliff Keen Invitational, with four bonus point victories before falling to Myles Amine of Michigan.
  • For the second consecutive season, Lewis ended the year undefeated in duals, bringing his career dual record to an astonishing 59-3
  • Lewis won 28 matches or more in each of his four seasons, compiling a record of 118-17, as well as a 37-1 record in the MAC
  • Defeated eighth ranked Taylor Lujan of UNI with a fall, helping Mizzou knock off the talented Panthers
  • Captured a huge win via fall against second-ranked Zahid Valencia out of Arizona State, who would go on to win the National Championship at 174 pounds
  • Following his defeat of Valencia, Lewis won a 7-0 decision against sixth ranked Joe Smith from Oklahoma State
  • Lewis led Mizzou in dual wins (16) as well as finishing second in falls (12) just behind Jaydin Eierman
  • Of his 118 career victories, Lewis recorded 53 of them via fall, including 17 in each of his final two seasons, his personal-best

REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2017-18)

  • Earned All-American recognition for the third consecutive season and won his third conference title in 2017-18, becoming the sixth wrestler in program history to reach the podium a third time and the sixth to capture at least three conference titles.
  • Was named co-Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Year at end-of-the-year banquet.
  • Produced one of the most dominant individual seasons in program history, recording a mark of 33-2 (18-0 in duals), while winning 27 matches by bonus points (17 falls, five technical falls, five major decisions).
  • Among program records, ranks sixth in falls in a season (17), sixth in career falls (36), eighth in career technical falls (10) and 10th in season winning percentage (.943, 33-2).
  • Among team leaders, ranked first in wins (33), first in falls (17), first in dual wins (18), first in dual points (89), first in dual falls (eight), first in dual technical falls (four), third in technical falls (five) and third in dual major decisions (three).
  • Started the season on a 32-match winning streak, including 11 wins over ranked wrestlers in the process.
  • Reached the podium for the third straight season at the NCAA Championships (March 15-17), this time up a weight at 174 pounds where he finished fourth, matching his highest finish at the NCAA Tournament from a fourth-place finish at 165 pounds in 2016.
  • Went 4-2 at the NCAA Championships (March 15-17), defeating two ranked wrestlers and winning two matches by bonus points, including a 8-0 major decision win over No. 14-ranked Yoanse Mejias (Oklahoma).
  • Became the sixth wrestler in program history to win at least three conference titles with a MAC Title at 174 pounds at the MAC Championships (March 3-4), winning two matches by fall and one by technical fall, including a fall over No. 14-ranked CJ Brucki (Central Michigan) at 1:33 in the finals.
  • Outlasted Northern Iowa’s No. 7-ranked Taylor Lujan, 13-10 (Feb. 17), to help Mizzou clinch perfect dual season.
  • Defeated No. 14-ranked Jacobe Smith (Oklahoma State), 7-3, to help Mizzou defeat the fifth-ranked Cowboys on the road (Jan. 27).
  • Won four consecutive matches by fall between Dec. 30 and Jan. 13, including a fall over Cornell’s No. 10-ranked Brandon Womack at the South Beach Duals (Dec. 30) at 1:30.
  • Named MAC Wrestler of the Week for the second time after an individual title at 4-0 performance at the Reno Tournament of Champsions (Dec. 17), recording three falls and a major decision.
  • Was named the MAC Wrestler of the Week after winning the Lindenwood Open with three falls and a 6-0 decision over No. 7-ranked Yoanse Mejias (Oklahoma) in the finals.
  • Won all three In-State Duals matches with first-period pins, the fastest a 34-second pin against Truman State’s Malik Beverly.
  • Opened the season by defeating No. 20-ranked Xavier Montalvo (Illinois) by 14-2 major decision (Nov. 4).

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2016-17)

  • Earned All-America status for the second consecutive season, finishing sixth at 165 pounds at the NCAA Championships while capturing his second MAC Title as well.
  • Posted a record of 28-6 (13-1 in duals), while leading the team in falls (9), major decisions (9), dual wins (13) and dual points (56).
  • Went 4-3 and finished sixth at 165 pounds at the NCAA Championships (March 16-18), knocking off three ranked wrestlers at the tournament while recording three major decisions.
  • Won his second straight MAC Title at 165 pounds, recording falls over Logan Parks (Central Michigan) and Shaun’Qae McMurty (Northern Illinois) in the opening two bouts before defeating No. 8-ranked Bryce Steiert (Northern Iowa) in the championship match.
  • In his highest ranked win of the season, upset No. 4-ranked Chandler Rogers (Oklahoma State), 11-10 (Jan.27), using a last-second takedown to clinch the win.
  • Dominated his competition by outscoring his opponents 58-0 in a four match stretch between Jan. 12 and Jan. 22, defeating Austin Weigel (Buffalo), 12-0 (Jan. 12), No. 16-ranked Joey Galasso (Cornell), 17-0 (Jan. 14), Devan Marry (Eastern Michigan), 12-0 (Jan. 15) and Logan Parks (Central Michigan), 17-0 (Jan. 22).
  • Placed second at the Southern Scuffle (Jan. 1-2) after a 4-1 performance, recording two falls and a technical fall at the tournament.
  • Defeated No. 23-ranked Forrest Przybysz (Appalachian State), 6-4, in a home dual victory (Dec. 20).
  • Upended No. 16-ranked Austin Reese (Ohio) by way of technical fall, 18-2 (Dec. 11).
  • Placed second at the UNI Open (Dec. 3), recording three falls and a major decision before falling to two-time NCAA Champion Isaiah Martinez (Illinois), 7-4, in the championship bout.
  • Started the season by recording two straight major decisions, defeating No. 11-ranked Seldon Wright (Old Dominion), 8-0 (Nov. 13), and Mike Clavarro (Virginia Tech), 13-0 (Nov. 20).

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2015-16)

  • In first year as an attached wrestler, went 29-6 and finished in fourth place at 165 pounds at the NCAA Championships (March 19), earning All-America status while also capturing a MAC Championship (March 6).
  • Was awarded the Most Pins and Outstanding Freshman Award at end-of-the-year banquet.
  • Recorded 10 falls, tied for most on the team and had eight first-period falls.
  • Went 4-2 at NCAA Championships on the way to All-America honors, recording two falls, including one over No. 6-ranked Sean Rodriguez (Illinois) to advance to the third-place match.
  • Won MAC Championship following an 8-3 win over Dakota Juarez (Eastern Michigan) in championship bout. In three matches, outscored opponents 30-3 with two major decisions in the quarterfinals and semifinals.
  • Went 12-2 in dual competition and 6-0 in MAC duals, scoring 47 dual points, fifth most on the team.
  • Back-to-back wins over top-10 opponents, defeating No. 6-ranked Max Rohskopf (N.C. State), 6-1 (Feb. 14), and No. 9-ranked Austin Wilson (Nebraska), 4-0 (Feb. 21).
  • Defeated Cornell’s No. 17-ranked Duke Pickett in overtime, TB-1 3-2, to help Mizzou upend the Big Red, 18-17 (Jan. 10).
  • Placed third at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 5) and won the “Most Falls in the Least Amount of Time” Award after posting five first-period pins. Defeated four ranked opponents over the tournament, including wins over No. 5-ranked Cooper Moore (Northern Iowa), 8-2, and No. 6-ranked Clark Glass (Oklahoma), 8-2, in the third place match.
  • Opened dual season with a first-period pin, defeating SIU Edwardsville’s Eric Travers at 0:58 (Nov. 20).

FRESHMAN (2014-15)

  • In his redshirt campaign, the first-year Tiger finished his 2014-15 season with a solid 21-8 record.
  • Of his 21 season victories, an incredible 15 of those resulted in pins. The 15 falls ranked first among all 2014-15 Tiger grapplers.
  • In his first 13 wins of the season, 10 came by falls with the fastest pin coming in just 0:28.
  • Competed in five total tournaments this season, placing in four of them.
  • Took home 165 pound top honors at 2014 UCM Open, going a perfect 5-0.
  • Best streak of season resulted in wins in 14-of-15 matches (Nov. 16, 2014 - Dec. 13, 2014).
  • His season best winning streak of nine matches came between Joe Parisi Open and UNI Open. Of those nine wins, six resulted in falls.
     
BLUE SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL (BLUE SPRINGS, MO)
  • Won four-straight state titles - his freshman season at 103 pounds, sophomore season at 126 pounds, junior season at 138 pounds, and senior season at 160 pounds.
  • Had an overall high school career record of 186-4.
  • In his perfect 45-0 senior season, every win was either a pin or a technical fall, with none of the matches reaching the third period.
  • Was the first wrestler in Blue Springs H.S. history to win four state championships, and was only the second in state history to win in four different weight classes (the first was Mizzou's J'den Cox).
  • Was named The Star's All-Metro Wrestler of the Year for the 2013-2014 season.
  • Had a perfect junior season as well, going 46-0 and winning The Examiner's 2012-2013 Wrestler of the Year. He was named The Examiner's Wrestler of the Year for the 2013-2014 season as well.
  • Had a third-place finish and was a Fargo All-American at 145 pounds his junior season.
  • Finished seventh at the 2014 FILA Junior Freestyle National Championships.
  • Lettered all four years in wrestling.
