PERSONAL - Jonathon Benson is the son of Mary Ann and Russell Benson... both parents attended Missouri... enjoys playing drums outside of swimming... chose Missouri over Seton Hall and George Mason.

Why did you choose Missouri?

I have loved the pool since it was built. It was kind of a quick decision because I didn't want to go to a small school in the Northeast to swim. I love the Midwest, and wanted to stay here with a big school. Mizzou was the perfect place. I also chose Mizzou because of Vito Cammisano and the Quidditch Team.

How has the program at Mizzou made you a better swimmer?

The coaching staff is amazing. They have helped mentally put the entire team in a frame of mind that is nothing but positive. With that atmosphere, I have also gotten an attitude toward swimming I never had before. My stroke in general has also improved a lot.

What is your best memory with the team?

Uldimate Frisbee on a Saturday morning in early September.
