HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time Florida top-six state finisher at 145 pounds (2005, 2006, 2007) and three-time Most Valuable Wrestler, Galarza finished his high school career with a 135-8 record. Coached by Kenneth Johnson at Miami Southridge, Galarza earned four letters as a member of the Spartan team. Galarza received four letters for his time with the wrestling program and was also a member of the cross country team.

PERSONAL: Rudy was born July 30, 1988, to Richard Galarza and Rosie Vinent and is the stepson of Chris Winkler. He has four brothers and two sisters, Richard (20), Justin (15), Denise (14), Christopher (11), Jessica (10) and Nick (one). Galarza is undecided on a major at Mizzou, but hopes to become a coach after graduation.
