"Troy has matured both physically and mentally since the end of last season," Missouri Head Coach Brian Smith said. "He has gained confidence and worked on his mat skills. He's one of the toughest leg riders in the country and should do well against the nation's elite."
2008-09: One of two redshirt freshmen to make Missouri's 10-man lineup, Dolan closed out the year with 15 wins and two top-eight tournament finishes. Dolan's first victory of the campaign came Nov. 23, at the Missouri Open by way of fall. The Tiger grappler pinned Oklahoma State opponent Andrew Taylor in 1:21, his fastest fall of the season. Dolan collected his first career Big 12 dual victory at home Jan. 31, against Andy Pokomy of Nebraska. Dolan held on for a 3-1 win by decision.
2007-08: Wrestling at 125 pounds, Dolan placed among the top five of his weight class at six tournaments, including two first-place finishes. Competing at the Roger Denker Open on Jan. 18, Dolan defeated Rob Nahlik by decision, 7-0, to win his first tournament title. Dolan went on to claim the Missouri Valley College Open title on Feb. 2 when he defeated Richey Zuniga by decision, 4-2. Dolan closed the season winning nine straight matches to finish 28-6. Of Dolan's 28 wins, four were earned by technical fall, seven by pin and six by major decision. Dolan finished second at the Lindenwood Open and third at the Central Missouri Open and Missouri Open. Dolan's sixth, top-six finish was a fifth-place showing at the Dana Open.
HIGH SCHOOL: A member of the Trojan wrestling team at Derry Area High School, Dolan was a three-time Pennsylvania State Champion (2005, 2006, 2007), wrestling between 112 and 119 pounds. Ranked as high as sixth in the nation, Dolan claimed the 2006 Super 32 Championship title and 2005 Powerade Title at 119 pounds. Academically, Dolan was a member of the Derry Area Honor Roll and was a two-time recipient of the John Driscoll Scholar-Athlete Award. Coached by Mike Wood, Dolan was a three-time All-American (2005, 2006, 2007) and earned four letters in wrestling. Dolan also played one year on the Trojan football team.
PERSONAL: Born to Troy and Karrie Dolan on Oct. 6, 1988, in Blairsville, Pa., Dolan is an only child. He plans to major in elementary education and hopes to become a teacher and coach after graduation.
