2011-12: Gagliano competed in five tournaments as a sophomore at 165 pounds and placed in the top-three in three of them. After going 3-2 in the UCM Open, Gagliano picked things up the next weekend at the Lindenwood Open, going 4-1 to take home third place. Of his four wins, three came by major decisions. He rode that momentum into the Kaufman-Brand Open in December, earning himself a second place finish. After winning his first three matches, Gagliano fell to teammate Zach Toal in the finals to earn the runner-up spot. Gagliano competed at the Southern Scuffle, winning three of his five matches which included a 19-2 technical fall over Steven Ramos (NC State) and a 9-0 major decision against John Lampe (Chattanooga). Gagliano wrapped up his season with another second place finish, this one coming at the Missouri Valley Open in February. He went 16-8 on the year, scoring bonus points in 10 of his 16 victories.
2010-11: As a redshirt freshman, Gagliano posted an impressive 18-6 record at 165 pounds, placing in three of the five opens that he competed in. He kicked off the year with a third place finish at the Central Missouri Open, going 6-1 on the day with his only loss coming to teammate Nick Gregoris. Of the six wins, four came with bonus points, which included a win via fall in 5:00 in his second match of the day. He closed out the tournament with back-to-back major decisions, including a 13-5 win over Brandon Perkins of Missouri Valley in the third place match. Despite going 2-2 at the Kaufman/Brand Open the following weekend, Gagliano secured another win by fall, pinning Oklahoma's Sean Datte in 1:07. Gagliano took home first place honors at the Roger Denker Open in January, winning his first match by a 9-1 major decision, then scoring a win by default in the semis before defeating teammate Ty Prazma in the finals, 6-1. He earned another third place finish at the MVC Open, once again going 6-1 on the day, which included a 10-2 major decision to open the tournament. Gagliano opened the National Collegiate Open in February with a 15-3 major decision. Of his 18 wins, Gagliano scored bonus points in half of those, which includes six major decisions on the season.
2009-10: Gagliano wrestled eight times in the 165 pound weight class last season, winning half of his matches during his redshirt campaign. Of his four victories, two came via major decision, while the other two came by technical fall. At the University of Central Missouri Open, Gagliano beat his first opponent by an 18-1 score. He'd win by major decision later that day, winning 13-1. At the Missouri Open he recorded two more victories, defeating Robert Fortson from Harper College by a 19-4 score and Steven Kemp from Lindenwood by a 19-5 total.
High School: A member of the Wentzville Holt wrestling squad, Gagliano and his teammates earned back-to-back state titles his sophomore (2006-07) and junior (2007-08) campaigns. As a senior (2008-09), Gagliano and the Indians took fourth at the state tournament. Individually, Gagliano finished as high as second in the state his junior season and third as a senior, both while wrestling at 160 pounds for the Indians. Coached by Jason Moore, Gagliano recorded 48 wins his senior campaign. In addition to earning four letters in wrestling, Gagliano was awarded two letters in track, he qualified for the State Championships in pole vault, and one in cross country. Gagliano also played with the Indian football team. Academically, Gagliano graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the National Honor Society as well as president of the student council. Additionally, Gagliano was the Scholar Athlete of Wentzville Holt High School.
Personal: Jordan Gagliano was born in Tucson, Ariz., on Dec. 21, 1990, to parents Roger and Ann Gagliano. Roger Gagliano was a member of the swim team at the University of Wisconsin at Plattville. Jordan Gagliano has one brother, Ryan (23), and one sister, Monica, (21). Gagliano is majoring in business finance.
