COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou swimming and diving prepares for the road as they travel to Dallas, Texas to compete in their first meet of the season at the SMU Classic.
The event begins at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, Oct. 9, followed by the second session beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 in the Robson & Lindley Aquatic Center. Live updates and results will be available via Meet Mobile and Dive Meets.
Both the men’s and women’s team will send eight swimmers and one diver to Texas. The women’s team will face Arizona, Arizona St., Arkansas, SMU, and Virginia Tech while the men will face the same schools minus Arkansas.
Mizzou last competed in the SMU Classic during the 2023-24 season, where the men’s team placed fifth and the women’s earned a fourth-place finish. This will mark the men’s team’s fourth time heading to Dallas for the Classic, and fifth time for the women’s squad.
TIGERS TO WATCH
- Luke Nebrich returns after a successful sophomore season where he earned his ticket for the NCAA Men’s Championships in multiple events including the 50 free, 100 free, and four separate relay squads: 200 free, 400 free, 200 medley, and 400 medley. Nebrich also broke the program record at the SEC Championships for the 50 free with a time of 1:15.64.
- Libby Bakker offers a plethora of talent after an impressive debut last season where she qualified for the NCAA Women’s Championships 200 medley relay. Throughout her freshman season, she earned 11 first place finishes between medley relays, backstroke and freestyle events.
- Tanner Braunton enters his senior season coming off multiple first place finishes in platform followed by gold medals in 1-meter and 3-meter against Louisville (Jan. 9, 2025).
- Katie Kuehn begins her junior year with the Tigers after a sophomore season full of top finishes and best times. At the 2026 SEC Championships, Kuehn recorded two season-best times; 49.59 in the 100 free and 53.50 in the 100 fly alongside competing in the 200 free relay at the NCAA Championships.
