COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou women’s basketball senior Grace Slaughter has been named to the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Award watch list, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association jointly announced Wednesday.

Slaughter headlines the Tigers’ roster and returns for her fourth season after ranking 33rd in the country and sixth in the SEC with 18.7 points per game last year.

The Grain Valley, Missouri, native begins the season 12th on the program’s all-time scoring list. She joined the 1,000-point club last year with a career-high 33-point performance against Northwestern.

The senior was named to both the preseason and midseason watch lists for the award last season. Slaughter and Sophie Cunningham (2015-19) are the only athletes in program history to earn a preseason watch list nod. Cunningham was a finalist for the award in 2018 and 2019.

Slaughter will be back in action when Mizzou opens the season against Howard at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Mizzou Arena.
