OXFORD, Miss. – Mizzou soccer earned its first Southeastern Conference win of the season Thursday night, shutting out Ole Miss 3-0 at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium.

Freshman Lana Adams (Perryville, Mo.) scored a goal and added an assist, and freshman Rylie Morse (Lebanon, Ohio) set up two more, as the Tigers (4-8-2, 1-5-1 SEC) picked up their largest road conference victory since Sept. 9, 2016, which also came against the Rebels (7-8-0, 0-7-0 SEC).

“I’m really proud of this group. We’ve been knocking on the door against some really good teams, and tonight we got rewarded with a complete performance,” head coach Stefanie Golan said. “To get three goals and a clean sheet on the road in this league is a big step, and I thought all the belief we’ve been building finally paid off.”

Missouri took control in the first half and struck first in the 28th minute. Adams delivered a laser pass through the middle of the field to junior Emily Derucki (Wildwood, Mo.) near the penalty spot, converting a right-footed shot into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead and her third goal of the season.

Missouri doubled the lead in the 62nd minute following a foul just outside the box. Morse delivered a perfectly placed ball in front of the net, where senior Brianna Buels (Indianapolis, Ind.) headed it to give the Tigers a 2-0 advantage.

The scoring surge continued in the 67th minute following another drawn foul. Morse recorded her second assist of the match, delivering a pinpoint free kick into the box, where Adams connected on a diving header to extend the lead to 3-0.

Missouri’s defense stayed strong throughout, shutting down Ole Miss’s chances to preserve the lead. The Rebels threatened to get on the board late, but junior McKenna Moran (Rowlett, Texas) came up with a crucial block to deny the opportunity and keep Ole Miss scoreless. Senior goalkeeper Riley Wilkerson (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) anchored the effort with three saves to earn her second shutout of the season.
