The Mizzou men's basketball team returns to CoMo and welcomes Mississippi State to Mizzou Arena for a Saturday matinee contest. Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
PROMOTIONS
• Saturday is Kids Day at Mizzou Arena. Pregame festivities include face painters and a balloon artist with a special giveaway for kids.
COACHES VS. CANCER
• The Mizzou coaching staff is also set to participate in Suits and Sneakers Week in support of the NABC Coaches vs. Cancer.
• Coaches vs. Cancer has a special connection with Mizzou as it was started by former MU head coach Norm Stewart in 1993.
• Since 1993, the NABC has raised more than $179 million for the American Cancer Society.
• Saturday is also the program's Fighting Childhood Cancer Game, working with MU Health Care and MizzouThon to fight pediatric cancer.
ABOUT THE TIGERS
• Missouri enters the weekend with a 14-7 overall record and 4-4 mark in SEC play.
• The Tigers are coming off a loss at Alabama on Tuesday to even their conference record.
• Senior Mark Mitchell leads the team with 17.4 points, while ranking second with 5.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
• Jayden Stone is second with 14.9 points go with a team-best 5.5 rebounds, while Jacob Crews also scores in double figures with 11.0 points.
• Anthony Robinson II leads Missouri with 3.4 assists per game, while Shawn Phillips Jr. has a team-best 1.5 blocks per game.
• The Tigers are averaging 80.2 points per game, while allowing 73.8.

• Mississippi State owns an 11-10 overall record and is 3-5 against SEC foes.

• Sophomore T.O. Barrett is currently playing the best basketball of his collegiate career.
• Barrett has tallied at least 10 points in four of the last five games – he scored in double figures just once in his first 35 career contests.
• In his first collegiate start last Saturday, Barrett tallied a career-best 21 points – the most by a Tiger making their first career start since Frankie Hughes scored 23 versus Alabama A&M in 2016.
• Overall, in the last five games, Barrett is tallying 13.4 points, while shooting 54.8 percent.
• In 21 games as a sophomore, Barrett is averaging 7.0 points and 2.6 assists per game.
CONTROLLING THE PAINT
• One area where the Tigers have excelled this season is in the paint.
• MU is outscoring SEC teams inside, 284-206 – an average of nearly 10 points per game (35.5-25.8).
• In fact, Mizzou has outscored its last two foes by at least 24 points inside (80-32 overall) – only the second time since joining the SEC that MU outscored conference teams in the paint by at least 20 in consecutive games (also 2012-13).
• The team's +28 margin versus Oklahoma (40-12) is tied for its largest in SEC play (also vs. LSU in 2013).

• Mark Mitchell continues to be the team's go-to weapon during the 2025-26 season.

• Mitchell is attempting to be the first Tiger to tally 17 points, five boards and three assists since Big Eight Player of the Year Anthony Peeler in 1991-92.
• In fact, he is one of only 10 players in the nation to have totaled 350 points, 110 rebounds and 65 assists this season.
TOP RANKS FOR MITCHELL
• With his strong play this season, Mark Mitchell ranks among the nation's best in multiple stats.
• The senior currently ranks ninth in the SEC and 114th nationally with his 17.4 points per game.
• Efficiency is the key as he ranks third in the SEC and 68th nationally with a field-goal clip of 54.8.
• Mitchell is also one of the nation's best at getting to the free-throw line – ranking 15th in attempts (160) and 61st in makes (105).
MAGIC NUMBER IS 73
• The goal for the Tigers is simply to score 73 points.
• Mizzou is a perfect 14-0 when tallying at least 73 points but are 0-7 when failing to reach the mark.
• Overall, the Tigers are averaging 80.7 points during the 2025-26 season – tallying 87.9 points in their 14 wins and 64.9 in their seven defeats.
