COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou tennis wrapped up day one of competition at the Husker Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 27, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Tigers totaled three wins on their first day back, starting with a victory in doubles from Millie Skelton and Evelyn Whiteside over the Kansas tandem of Yerkezhan Arystanbekova and Anna Putilina.

In singles action, Skelton continued to dominate the court, winning her match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Whiteside added a win as well, defeating her Iowa State opponent, 6-2, 6-2. The victory for Whiteside marked her first collegiate singles win. 

Both Alba Salles Canudas and Leticia Bazan fought hard in their singles matches, forcing third sets but were unable to clinch the wins.

Mizzou continues tomorrow with day two of the Husker Invitational, beginning at 9 a.m. CT.
