COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Mizzou men's golf team heads West this week for the William H. Tucker Invitational, beginning Friday in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

TOURNAMENT INFO
The William H. Tucker Invitational begins Friday with two rounds of 18 holes before concluding Saturday with the final round. Now in its 71st season, the Invitational was established in 1955 and is one of the longest-running tournaments in collegiate golf.

COURSE OVERVIEW
The tournament is slated for the UNM Championship Course, a par-72 course that measures 7,555 yards in length.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
The Tigers are one of 15 schools competing this week, including a pair of preseason top-25 teams in No. 23 BYU and No. 24 Arizona. New Mexico, Arkansas State, Colorado, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, New Mexico State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, SMU, UC Santa Barbara, UNLV and UTEP also compete alongside the Tigers.

LAST WEEK IN CANADA
Mizzou enters the tournament following a fifth-place finish at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational last week. Senior Veikka Viskari led the Tigers with a third-place individual finish, closing the tournament at four-under par and earning his fifth career top-five finish. Junior Trent Mierl also finished inside the top 10, tying for ninth at two-over.

HOMECOMING
This week’s tournament at New Mexico is also a homecoming for a pair of former Lobos. Mizzou head coach Glen Millican spent 22 seasons leading the Lobos program, earning Mountain West Coach of the Year accolades eight times. He also played for UNM from 1994 to 1998, earning seven top-10 finishes. Tigers assistant coach Sean Carlon played for Millican from 205 to 109, earning All-Mountain West Conference and GCAA All-West Region accolades as a senior.
