Mizzou men's golf begins its season on Monday — the first of two days of competition at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate in Knoxville, Tennessee.
TOURNAMENT INFO
The two-day tournament tees off on Monday with the Tigers starting on the ninth tee at 7:30 a.m. CT. Mizzou continues action on Tuesday with tee times beginning at 7 a.m. CT. The Tigers are set to play 36 holes on Monday, followed by 18 on Tuesday to conclude the tournament.
COURSE OVERVIEW
The Visit Knoxville Collegiate is set for the Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee. The par-70 course measures 6,962 yards in length.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Competing with the Tigers this week include five teams who finished in the top 25 of the 2025-26 Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches poll. Vanderbilt is coming off a quarterfinal appearance in the 2026 NCAA Championship, while Charlotte, Chattanooga, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Liberty, Louisville, Memphis, Mississippi State, North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Toledo, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech also join Mizzou in the tournament.
RETURNERS
The Tigers return four of their top five scorers from last season. Veikka Viskari led Mizzou with a stroke average of 71.92 en route to becoming the first Tiger to qualify as an individual for the regional rounds of the NCAA Championship since 2021. Also returning for the 2025-26 campaign include Trent Mierl (72.61), Brock Snyder (73.20) and Reese Roberts (74.18).
NEWCOMERS
Mizzou welcomes three new faces to its lineup for 2026-27, including junior Paxton Maxwell, who earned second-team All-WAC honors during his sophomore campaign at Utah Valley. Junior Andy Yang will also join the Tigers after posting a 73.97 stroke average during his sophomore season at Cal Baptist, alongside freshmen Antoni Hawkins.
HOW DID YOU SPEND YOUR SUMMER?
The Tigers enjoyed a strong summer campaign, highlighted by three Mizzou golfers qualifying for the U.S. Amateur Championship for the first time in 20 years. Seniors Brock Snyder and Veikka Viskari, along with junior Trent Mierl, all earned spots in the prestigious championship at Merion Golf Club. Snyder placed second at his qualifying site, with a four-under 68 at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton, Minnesota, on July 13. Mierl and Viskari also advanced through qualifying, with Viskari securing his spot after a playoff. The trio made Mizzou one of 26 schools with three current golfers in the 2026 U.S. Amateur field.
