COLUMBIA, Mo. — Nine-time Grammy Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Sheryl Crow will perform the national anthem before Mizzou's 2026 football season opener, the “Kickoff in CoMo” game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday, Sept. 3 at Memorial Stadium.
A Missouri native and University of Missouri graduate, Crow will return to Columbia to perform at the home of the Tigers as Mizzou begins the 2026 season while celebrating 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium.
Crow, from Kennett, Missouri, earned her degree in music education from Mizzou in 1984 before embarking on a career that has made her one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters of her generation. Her career has produced nine Grammy Awards and numerous multi-platinum recordings, including such signature songs as "All I Wanna Do," "If It Makes You Happy," "Everyday Is a Winding Road" and "Soak Up the Sun."
In 2023, Crow was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, adding one of the music industry's highest honors to a career that has spanned more than three decades. Crow served as Mizzou’s Homecoming grand marshal in 2003 and returned to Mizzou for a benefit concert in 2015.
“Hey, Mizzou fans, I'm so excited to see all of you guys at the ‘Kickoff in CoMo’ home opener,” Crow said. “Can't wait to get back in town. M-I-Z!”
“We’re thrilled to invite Mizzou fans to welcome Sheryl Crow back home to Mizzou and Memorial Stadium for what promises to be a special night to kick off our 2026 football season,” Mizzou Deputy Director of Athletics and Chief of External Operations Eric Morrison said. “Sheryl is an incredibly accomplished artist, a proud Missouri native and an outstanding ambassador for the University of Missouri and Mizzou Athletics. We’re excited to have her back where her Mizzou story began and to share this special moment with Tiger fans.”
Mizzou's season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff will mark the beginning of the Tigers' 2026 football season and the first home game featuring Memorial Stadium’s newly renovated north end zone. The 7 p.m. game will air on SEC Network. Fans can purchase four tickets for $80 to the “Kickoff in CoMo” home opener by clicking HERE.
