COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou wrestling head coach Brian Smith announced the signing of Everett Joyce (Wichita, Kansas/Maize) on Thursday. Joyce, originally a commit in the 2027 recruiting class, reclassified following the passing of the NCAA’s new age-based eligibility rule.

Joyce comes to Missouri as a two-time Kansas state champion for Maize High School under head coach Tyler Gonzales with a career record of 100-4. Ranked 88th overall and eighth at 190 pounds by MatScout on the 2027 Big Board, the incoming freshman has picked up wins over notable competition including 2025 Fargo Champion Lucas Ricketts.

Additionally, he has bested Keaton Moeller, a two-time Iowa State Champion, Marion Hutcherson, the No. 10 overall recruit in the 2028 class, and Eli Leonard, a Fargo and Super 32 All-American.

Coming off a 2026 Fargo All-American finish, claiming sixth at 190 pounds, Joyce is also a two-time freestyle state champion for Wichita Training Center under head coach Noel Torres.
