For the first time in 20 years, the Mizzou men’s golf team is sending multiple golfers to the US Amateur as Trent Mierl, Brock Snyder and Veikka Viskari all qualified for the championship.

Snyder earned his invitation by placing second with a four-under 68 at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton, Minnesota, on July 13. He was one of seven golfers to qualify from the site, finishing two strokes above the cutline to advance to the championship.

Mierl became the second Tiger to earn a spot at Rivermont Golf Club in Johns Creek, Georgia, on Monday. He carded a two-under 68 as he was one of 13 golfers to advance from the site, finishing one stroke above the cut.

Viskari rounded out the trio of qualifiers as he advanced out of Aurora Country Club in Aurora, Illinois, on Wednesday. Visarki finished in a three-way tie for sixth place with a three-under 69. The rising senior forced a three-golfer playoff with an eagle three on the par-five 18th hole and then was one of two to qualify out of the playoff and earn his bid to the championship.

The last time the Tigers sent multiple golfers to the US Amateur was in 2006 when John Kelly finished as runner-up and Peter Malnati also qualified for the stroke play rounds.
