COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou softball has added transfer left-handed pitcher Mary Peyton Hodge (Winston Salem, N.C./Oak Grove HS) from Arizona State, head coach Larissa Anderson announced on Saturday, July 18.
“We’re excited to welcome Mary Peyton Hodge to Mizzou,” Anderson said. “She was one of the most highly regarded pitchers in her recruiting class, and we’re thrilled she has chosen our program for the next chapter of her career. She has tremendous talent, and we’re looking forward to providing the environment, coaching, and daily opportunities for her to continue developing into the pitcher we know she can become.”
Peyton Hodge joins the Tigers as a sophomore after starting two games for the Sun Devils and going 2-1 with a 5.88 ERA in 11 appearances. Over the course of 25 innings for ASU, she struck out 16 batters. She was also named to the D1 Softball Freshman Watch List at the beginning of the 2026 season.
The incoming sophomore made her collegiate debut against Portland State, where she threw a scoreless inning in the 20-2 victory. In her first start, Peyton Hodge threw four innings, allowing one earned run in the win against Pacific. She later made a second start in a win against Eastern Illinois. She posted a hitless outing against UNLV in relief, as she pitched one inning in the victory.
Peyton Hodge becomes Mizzou’s fourth transfer this summer, joining Tyah Charlton (Georgia), Jana Want (Middle Tennessee) and Nealy Lamb (South Carolina).
