Mizzou Announces 2026 Cross Country Schedule

Mizzou is set to host the annual Gans Creek Classic and the 2026 SEC Championship in the upcoming season.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou cross country is slated to host one regular season meet at its home facility, Gans Creek Cross Country Course, in addition to the 2026 Southeastern Championship, head coach Brett Halter announced Friday.

The Tigers open the season with a pair of road trips, beginning with the Iowa State Cyclone Opener on Friday, Sept. 4. Two weeks later, Mizzou travels to Saint Louis for the Billiken XC Invite on Friday, Sept. 18, hosted by SLU.

The Black & Gold returns to Columbia to host the eighth annual Gans Creek Classic on Friday, Sept. 25, marking the first competition on the course since the 2025 NCAA Cross Country National Championship.

The Tigers conclude the regular season campaign with the Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday, Oct. 9, hosted by Wisconsin at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.

The postseason begins on Friday, Oct. 30 with the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships at Missouri’s home facility. This marks the second time the Gans Creek Cross Country Course has served as the conference championship venue, previously doing so on Oct. 29, 2021.

The Tigers hit the road to Ames, Iowa, for the second time to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship on Friday, Nov. 13, at the Iowa State Cross Country Course. The NCAA Championship is set for Saturday, Nov. 21, at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, hosted by Indiana State.

Missouri returns 18 individuals from its 2025 roster, including All-American and All-SEC First Team recipient Monica Wanjiku. The women’s squad ended the season after finishing 28th in their 13th appearance at the NCAA Championship, with the men placing seventh at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship.
