TOP TIGERS

At the Valentine Invitational, the 5000m trio of freshmen Monica Wanjiku, Mirriam Chepkirui and Kobi Walker – all running the 5000m for the first time – posted times that nearly landed each of them in Mizzou's all-time indoor top-10. Running in the first heat, Wanjiku placed fourth with the second-best time in MU history – 15:24.84. Walker and Chepkirui followed in the third heat. Walker's time of 16:16.32 ranks sixth all-time at MU and Chepkirui's time of 16:35.76 is just outside the top-10 at No.11.

Also in Boston, running in the Invitational mile run, junior Suzy Lecoutre ran 4:38.91 for the fourth fastest time ever at Mizzou. In the University mile, freshman Morgan Yeomans clocked a 4:42.27, good for sixth place and the eighth-best time at Missouri. Both Tigers were running the indoor mile for the first time.

In two days at the Valentine Invitational, Mizzou's distance corps posted personal bests in 14 of 15 races.
