Led by a record-setting performance from freshman Ebba Liljeberg, Mizzou women's golf claimed the team title at the Sam Golden Invitational on Tuesday at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas.
Mizzou shot a 40-under par 824 (281-271-272), which marked a new program best. The tournament victory is the first for the Tigers since 2022.
After tying the lowest round in relative-to-par in NCAA history yesterday at 11-under, Liljeberg recorded a bogey free 2-under par final round to finish with a 19-under 197 to claim the individual title; both the final score and overal strokes are a program-best for a tournament. The freshman finished a dominant nine shots ahead of second place.
Overall, all five Tigers finished the tournament under-par and inside the top 35. Senior Melanie Walker turned in a five-under final round to finish in a tie for fourth place at eight-under, while fellow senior Addie Dobson posted a two-under to place 12th at six-under.
Freshman Addie Surber closed the tournament with a five-under on the final day to finish at four-under in a tie for 25th. Junior Fleur van Beek rounded out the lineup with a four-under to finish in 35th at two-under.
