COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri softball freshman infielder Avery Porter (Katy, Texas/Katy HS) was named to the Canadian Softball U18 National Team roster, Softball Canada announced on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Porter and the U18 Canadian National Team will compete in the 2025 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U18 Women's World Cup, Sept. 27 – Oct. 2 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Mizzou freshman will join the Canadian National Team for the second time as she competed with the squad at the World Cup Qualifiers in 2024. Porter and the rest of the team earned a second-place finish in Group C, behind the USA, and secured a berth for the 2025 World Cup Finals.
Porter, a native of Katy, heads into her first year with the Tigers as the No. 21st-ranked player in the Southwest Region and the No. 94th overall player in the class of 2025.
Porter's status on the National Team is given to her through her mom, Dawn Constantin, who played volleyball at Saint Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia.
