COLUMBIA, Mo. – A home run by freshman shortstop Madison Uptegrove provided all the offense University of Missouri softball needed as the Tigers took down No. 24 Georgia, 1-0, Saturday at Mizzou Softball Stadium.

With the win, Mizzou captured its first SEC series victory of the season. It also marked the ninth ranked win of the 2025 campaign for the Tigers.

MU improves to 25-30 on the season and 6-18 in SEC play. Georgia moves to 30-19 overall and 7-16 in conference play.

Uptegrove launched her fifth home run of the season in the second inning, marking back-to-back games with homers.

The Columbia, Missouri, native, went 1-for-1 at the plate Saturday with a home run and a walk to extend her reached base streak to four games.

Cierra Harrison threw six scoreless innings for the Tigers, her first scoreless outing since April 2 against Missouri State. She allowed just two hits with a strikeout Saturday to improve to 10-8 in 2025 (3-4 SEC).

NCAA Division I active career saves leader Taylor Pannell recorded her third save of the season and second of the weekend, holding the Bulldogs scoreless with two strikeouts over the seventh. She now has 24 career saves.

Senior Taylor Ebbs posted a single to extend her reached base streak to 12 games.

Madison Walker is currently on a nine-game reached base streak following a walk on Saturday.

UP NEXT

The Tigers will next head to Athens, Georgia, for the 2025 SEC Tournament as postseason play begins Tuesday.
