No. 58 Tennis Loses Home Match No. 34 Ole Miss

COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 58-ranked University of Missouri tennis started its weekend at home, dropping a match 6-1 to No. 34 Ole Miss on Friday, March 28. Mizzou is now 11-9 and 2-8 in Southeastern Conference matches, while Ole Miss is 11-8 and 4-6 in SEC play.
In doubles, Missouri lost 1-0. Senior Mary Brumfield and freshman Korina Roso lost on court one, 6-3, going up against the No. 77-ranked doubles duo, followed by graduate student Lailaa Bashir and Zoe Lazar dropping their match on court three, 6-3. On court two, junior Andrea Artimedi and senior Inah Canete went unfinished, tied 4-4.
During singles, the Tigers dropped their matches on courts one through five despite several going to three sets. Artimedi fought hard at No. 6 and put a point on the board, winning her match with a tiebreak on court six 6-4, 6-2, 12-10.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to take on No. 6 LSU and Southeastern Louisiana in doubleheader action on Sunday, March 30. The first serves for the doubleheader will be at 10 a.m. CT and 2 p.m. CT, respectively.
