WICHITA, Kan. – Madison Walker compiled two home runs, a double and six RBI but it wasn't enough as University of Missouri softball dropped an offensive battle to No. 16/18 Nebraska, 10-9, Sunday afternoon at Wilkins Stadium.
MU finished the 2025 Shocker Invitational with a 3-2 record and is now 11-10 this season. Nebraska improved to 15-6 in 2025.
Walker registered a career-best three hits (3-for-4) with two homers including a grand slam to go with a double and six RBI. The two-homer outing was the second of her career (second in 2025).
Walker's personal-best six RBI are the most for a Tiger since Hatti Moore recorded the feat against Texas A&M on April 29, 2022.
Walker, an Olathe, Kansas, native, finished the 2025 Shocker Invitational batting .421 with four homers, two doubles and 13 RBI with a 1.158 slugging percentage. She is currently on a three-game hitting streak.
She launched her first home run of the day in the first, a two-run shot to left, to provide Mizzou an early 3-0 lead.
Walker then blasted her first career grand slam to knot the contest at 8-8 in the fifth. It marked her ninth homer and 23rd RBI of the season.
It was also the first Tigers grand slam since 2023 (Katie Chester vs. North Texas, Feb. 18, 2023).
After Missouri's three-run first, the Huskers responded with a pair of homers in the second to pull ahead 5-3.
Kara Daly trimmed the deficit to one with a solo blast in the third. She is currently on an eight-game reached base streak after her fourth homer of the season. With 34 career round trippers, Daly is now two away from breaking into the Missouri program top-10 for the category.
Nebraska then rebuilt its lead to four with a three-run homer in the fifth.
The Huskers utilized a pair of sacrifice flies in the sixth to take a 10-8 advantage.
Julia Crenshaw smacked Missouri's season-best fourth home run of the day against All-American pitcher Jordy Bahl to make it a one-run game (10-9) in the bottom of the sixth.
Crenshaw, a senior catcher from O'Fallon, Missouri, notched a season-high three hits (3-for-4), three runs, a double and a homer. She has reached base safely in 10-straight games.
Kayley Lenger added a hit (1-for-3) Sunday.
Starter Cierra Harrison went 2.0 innings, allowing five earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts. She is now two strikeouts away from 200 in her career.
Marissa McCann (3 ER, 5 H, 3 Ks, 3.0 IP), Nathalie Touchet (2 ER, 0 IP) and Taylor Pannell (0 R, 2 H, 1 K, 2.0 IP) all saw action out of the bullpen. Touchet was assessed the loss (0-1 in 2025).
