COLUMBIA, Mo. - No. 25 Missouri wrestling celebrates Senior Day against No. 13 Iowa State on Saturday, Feb. 22 at noon CT. The Tigers will honor 11 seniors ahead of the dual, beginning at 11:25 a.m. CT.
LAST TIME OUT
- Missouri took a trip to the Sooner State to take on No. 22 Oklahoma and No. 3 Oklahoma State on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2, respectively.
- The Tigers fell to the Sooners, 23-13 and lost to the Cowboys, 36-3.
- Redshirt junior Seth Nitzel defeated Oklahoma's Juan Mora for the second time this season, 8-1.
- Redshirt sophomore Cam Steed majored No. 27 Tate Picklo (OU) 13-3, but dropped a close match to No. 6 Cameron Amine (OSU), 2-1.
SENIOR DAY CELEBRATION
- Prior to the start of the Saturday dual, Missouri will honor 11 seniors: Jesse Cassatt, Trey Crawford, Jerrdon Fisher, Logan Gioffre, Cole Gripka, Jeremy Jakowitsch, Eric Lovelace, Seth Nitzel, Keegan O'Toole, Nate Pulliam and Noah Surtin.
- Notable standouts among the senior class is Noah Surtin, a four-time NCAA qualifier and two-time conference finalist. Additionally, Keegan O'Toole could end his career on the Mount Rushmore of Tiger Style with two NCAA Championships, and four All-American honors with one postseason left in his collegiate career.
RETURN OF THE KING
- Senior Keegan O'Toole makes his return to the mat after sustaining an injury, sidelining the two-time champion since Dec. 22.
- The four-time All-American returns with an 11-0 record and 90.9 percent bonus rate.
- His last match, Dec. 22 against No. 1 Penn State, O'Toole defeated No. 2-ranked Levi Haines in sudden victory, 4-1.
VALUABLE VETERANS RETURN
- Tiger Style has had its fair share of injury woes this season, competing for a large portion of 2024-25 without Noah Surtin, Rocky Elam, Keegan O'Toole and Colton Hawks.
- Senior Noah Surtin announced his medical retirement on Dec. 13, 2024.
- Head coach Brian Smith announced that senior Rocky Elam, who has been combating multiple injuries, will not wrestle this season on Jan. 2.
- Classmate Keegan O'Toole had been battling an injury sustained earlier in the season and would miss the month of January to allow him to recover as much as possible.
- Additionally, redshirt junior Colton Hawks was injured on Jan. 12 against Stanford and has missed significant time.
- With their absence, the lineup was missing four wrestlers who have totaled 279 career wins and 152 bonus-point victories.
- Good news for Missouri heading into the Iowa State dual, both Keegan O'Toole and Colton Hawks will make their return to the lineup ahead of the postseason.
THE SERIES: IOWA STATE
- The matchup between Missouri and Iowa State marks the 59th meeting between the two programs, dating back to 1927.
- The Cyclones hold the advantage in the rivalry with a 46-12 overall record.
- The Tigers longest winning streak against Iowa State was six consecutive wins.
LAST TIME VS THE CYCLONES
- Missouri fell to the Iowa State 41-3 on Feb. 25, 2024 battling through illness and injuries with a limited lineup at the end of the season.
- Josh Edmond (141) faced a top-10 opponent in No. 9 Anthony Echemendia, narrowly losing 10-9.
- Colton Hawks (184) secured Mizzou's lone win, upsetting No. 7 Will Feldkamp 12-8 in a rematch from the 2023 NCAAs.
- The Tigers are now 12-46 all-time vs the Cyclones but have won four of the last six meetings.

- The Black and Gold are ranked No. 25 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Poll.
