
No. 20 Wrestling Falls to No. 3 Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 20 University of Missouri wrestling fell to No. 3 Oklahoma State 36-3 on Sunday. The Tigers dropped to 0-2 on their weekend road trip to the Sooner State. Mizzou now sits at 5-9 (4-3 Big 12) on the season, while Oklahoma State remains undefeated at 12-0 (9-0 Big 12).
Oklahoma State opened the dual with two consecutive wins before Mizzou got on the board. Redshirt junior Josh Edmond blasted his way to a victory at 141 pounds to temporarily halt the Cowboy's momentum. OSU picked up two more decisive victories to take a 13-3 lead at the break.
In the marquee match of the evening, redshirt sophomore Cam Steed dropped a hard-fought decision to three-time All-American and sixth-ranked Cameron Amine. True freshman Aeoden Sinclair put in a good effort but ultimately came up short to returning NCAA Finalist Dustin Plott. The Pokes picked up wins in all five matches in the back half, tallying bonus points in the final four.
MATCH NOTES
- The loss drops the Black and Gold to 8-46-1 against Oklahoma State.
- The Cowboys extended their win streak in the series to three duals, with Mizzou's last series win coming in Columbia during the 2021-22 season.
- Edmond's 11-4 decision at 141 pounds marked his eighth dual win of the season and bumped his dual record to 8-5.
- Sinclair saw action in his fifth dual of the season, wrestling at 184 pounds for the first time.
UP NEXT
Mizzou will return to the Hearnes Center for Senior Night against Iowa State on Saturday, February 22. Wrestling will begin at noon and can be streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
