
No. 16 Softball Splits Final Day of 2025 Clearwater Invitational

CLEARWATER, Fla. – No. 16 ranked University of Missouri softball split its final day of competition at the 2025 Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational Presented by EvoShield Saturday at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.
Missouri defeated Liberty, 5-3, in the morning matchup before falling to San Diego State, 5-2, in the afternoon tilt.
Missouri wraps up its two-week stay in Florida with a 6-5 mark to commence the 2025. The Tigers went 2-3 over the Clearwater Invitational this weekend.
No. 16 Missouri 5, Liberty 3
Madison Walker belted a career-best two home runs to power the Tigers past Liberty, 5-3.
She launched a round tripper in the first and added a two-run homer in the third to provide the Tigers a lead they wouldn't relinquish. The Olathe, Kansas, sophomore notched a personal-best matching two hits (2-for-3) with a trio of RBI and two runs.
Trailing 3-1, Julia Crenshaw cut the margin to one with an RBI double in the third.
Crenshaw now has 98 hits in her career at Mizzou.
Kara Daly added a solo blast in the fifth to seal the win, 5-3. Daly finished 2-for-3 (season-best two hits).
Stefania Abruscato (stolen base), Taylor Ebbs and Mya Dodge each added hits in the win.
Marissa McCann earned the victory in the circle to improve to 3-0 this season. She allowed zero earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts in the complete-game win.
It marked her second-straight win where she had surpassed 100 pitches.
San Diego State 5, No. 16 Missouri 2
San Diego State utilized a three-run third to edge Missouri, 5-2, Saturday afternoon.
MU and SDSU exchanged runs in the second. Madison Uptegrove connected on her first career double to tie the contest at 1-1.
The freshman infielder from Columbia, Missouri, went a personal best 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Abruscato also paced MU in the Clearwater Invitational finale, going 2-for-2 with a run, a walk and a double.
With the Aztecs leading 4-1, Dodge posted an RBI single in the fourth to cut the deficit in half.
SDSU would then capitalize on a Missouri miscue to increase its lead to 5-2 in the sixth.
Ebbs (double), Daly and Claire Cahalan each had hits for Missouri.
Courtney Donahue was handed the loss, pitching 2.1 innings allowing three earned runs on five hits with a strikeout.
Cierra Harrison (zero earned runs on five hits over 3.2 IP) and Taylor Pannell (one strikeout, zero earned runs over 1.0 IP) both saw relief action Saturday.

- Catcher Julia Crenshaw led Missouri over the 2025 Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational Presented by EvoShield, batting .400 with two doubles, three RBI and a homer.
- Claire Cahalan also hit .400 over the tournament.
- Kara Daly and Stefania Abruscato (three RBI, two doubles) both hit .333 over the Invitational.
- Taylor Ebbs and Kara Daly are both on four-game hitting streaks while Stefania Abruscato abd Claire Cahalan have reached base safely in four straight.

- Mizzou will next head to Cathedral City, California, for the 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic Feb. 20-22. MU will open the Classic against Rutgers and No. 4 UCLA on Thursday, Feb. 20.
